The role of Philip Morris USA is to responsibly manufacture and market its brands to adult tobacco consumers. We are currently seeking a highly qualified AC Operator to join our Utility Operations department in our Richmond, VA manufacturing center.



The successful candidates will be expected to ensure the safe, continuous, effective and efficient operation and maintenance of AC systems for key manufacturing and support facilities.

Qualified applicants will:
Be at least 18 years of age
Have strong safety orientation
Possess current Universal CFC Certification
Be eligible to work in the U.S. and for the Altria family of companies
Be able to work rotating shifts
Have excellent problem solving abilities
Have strong written and oral communication skills
Have a high degree of initiative and conscientiousness



Have the ability to maintain HVAC efficiencies and settings via HMIs and other indicators within narrow tolerances including the maintenance and operation of chillers, compressors, condensers, evaporators, regulators, generators, heaters, blowers, dryers, filters and pumps
Have the ability to follow a process control plan and maintain equipment operating logs and records
Have the ability to use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to enter work order and preventive maintenance data
Have the ability to operate additional auxiliary equipment including air handlers, exhaust fans, pumps, valves, steam systems, chilled & purified water systems, and compressed air
Have the ability to clean, lubricate and maintain auxiliary equipment to prevent failure or deterioration
Have the ability to respond appropriately to abnormal and emergency conditions and outages including the maintenance and operation of fire protection systems
Have the ability to perform compliant and effective refrigerant loading/unloading
Have the ability to transport refrigerants and chemicals safely
Have the ability to work with maintenance teams and vendors to isolate systems for installations, inspections and repairs
Have the knowledge to perform on-site water treatment analyses for the water/steam cycle system, as well as take appropriate corrective actions such as adding chemicals to regenerate dealkalizers



Have the ability to ensure assigned work areas and cleaning stations are maintained to meet high safety and housekeeping standards
Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the operation of steam, chilled water hydronic, fire control and pneumatic systems
